The Junior Technical Artist helps bridge the gap between the artists and programmers. Their responsibility is to learn and ensure the art content and features are easily created and integrated into the game, while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with artists and programmers to create high quality artwork and integrate it into the engine
- Support artists and programmers in the use of the 3D art pipeline and engine tools
- Help provide hands-on support to artists and programmers in regard to asset performance, quality and validation
- Help develop 3D art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye towards usability and efficiency
- Collaborate with programmers and QA to diagnose and resolve in-game issues.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an artist in the game industry
- Expert in modelling and art tools (Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent artistic skills
- Ability to work with technical documentation
- Experience developing custom tools for art packages (Maya, 3Ds Max, etc.)
- Experience with game editors and engines is considered a plus (e.g. Unreal Engine.)
- Some knowledge of high level coding language. (Python, MaxScript, Perl, C#, etc.)
- Experience with shader development in a 3D modelling package (e.g. 3Ds Max) and/or game engine (e.g. Unreal Engine.)
