d3t welcomes Joe Borley, Associate Producer

Experience / Career Background
I have always been interested in games. Some of my earliest memories are playing on the Mega Drive and I have wanted to work in the games industry since I found out you could get paid for making games.
I went to University to study Game Art. Career opportunities didn’t really land for me as an artist though, and after finishing University I sought other opportunities.
Most recently I have been working as a Project Coordinator in the finance sector and found I really enjoyed the role but wanted to develop it further in an industry I am passionate about. That’s when I applied to d3t.
Why d3t?
There were a couple of key factors in my decision to take the job here. d3t has a solid foundation in the northwest UK and was backed up when they were acquired by Keywords Studios. I wanted to work for a company where I had room to develop and learn, and have a team around me that could help me do that. Through the interview process, it was clear that this was the right place for me. After working in a large corporate space for several years, I was looking for somewhere with much more of a close-knit feel, and again in all my interactions in the interview process it was clear that d3t had this.
Fun fact
Fact – whilst I have spent most of my life in England, I was born in Cyprus as my Dad was stationed over there in the R.A.F.
Hobbies – Obviously, I am big into gaming. Outside of that though, my hobbies include board games, gardening, football, cooking and walking the dog.
