Our successful studio is growing, and we are now looking for a Senior Artist to join the expanding Art Team. As our studio, part of the Keywords Studios group, works on multiple exciting projects at any one time, we can offer plenty of variety and involvement.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Produce high quality artwork in a variety of pre-defined art styles.
    • Create textures in various styles (bespoke, photoreal, stylised, procedural).
    • Create materials/shaders and apply PBR workflow (when appropriate).
    • Produce efficient UV layouts with consideration towards texel density.
    • Derive well-structured low poly models from high poly sculpts.
    • Setup dynamic lighting, post effects and basic scene animation using various editors.
    • Work with Art leads and other artists to ensure consistency between initial vision and final assets.
    • Attend regular reviews of artwork and assist in both providing and implementing feedback.
    • Ensure work meets all technical limits with an awareness of memory usage and the impact of art on frame rate.
    • Ensure all artwork adheres to guidelines regarding naming conventions, texture layering structures, folders etc.
    • Provide tutorials and technical guides to improve efficiency in the art pipeline.
    • Assist with resolving technical issues and fixing bugs.
    • Adhere to schedules and promptly feedback concerns regarding any aspects of the project.
    • Keep up to date with industry advancements and technologies and share knowledge with the art team.
    • Provide coaching to Artists and Associate Artists where appropriate.
    • Demonstrate responsibility for work quality and processes for both yourself and other members of the art team.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent artistic ability demonstrated through a showreel or website.
    • Highly proficient in Maya/Max, Z-Brush/Mudbox, Photoshop and Substance suite.
    • Experience of using current game editors such as UE4 or Unity 4.
    • A good understanding of lighting principles and post processes.
    • Evidence of being a leader or role model in intermediate art role.
    • Strong communication and organisation skills.
    • Practical and methodical approach to both technical and creative problem-solving.
    • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt with change.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
    • Experience of working within game development for at least 4 years.
    • Experience of the console or mobile market.
    • At least three published titles.
    • At least two full project cycles in an Intermediate Art position.
    • Passion for staying up to date with latest technology and embracing new game art techniques.
    • Proven background in outsource art provision (Desirable).

    THE ROLE – DEVOPS PROGRAMMER

    As a result of d3t’s continued success and growth we are looking at expanding our team. Working closely with all departments in the studio, the focus of the DevOps Programmer role will be on bringing efficiency to our processes and improving workflows for all roles. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in AAA game development, being an instrumental part of the growing team. At d3t, we aim to develop tailored solutions to our own processes wherever possible, making sure we have the best possible tools to support our team. The DevOps Programmer role will be central to this internal development. In a typical day at d3t you will be involved in:

    • A variety of internal projects; from working on our operations software to developing our continuous integration systems, asset pipeline tools and even in-house game libraries.
    • Building tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve the Development Staff experience.
    • Implementing tools and integrations requested by the wider development team.
    • Developing and maintaining software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
    • Investigating and resolving technical issues.
    • Deploying updates and fixes to internal software.
    • Developing scripts to automate development and processes.
    • Designing procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    Essential

    • Good knowledge of C#, C++ and web languages.
    • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
    • Knowledge of web technologies and processes.

    Desirable

    • Knowledge of Version Control Software, especially Perforce.
    • Work experience as a DevOps Programmer or similar software engineering role.
    • Knowledge of ASP.NET/EF development.
    • Knowledge of other programming and scripting languages.
    • Knowledge of game development principles is desirable as there will be opportunities to contribute on internal game tooling.

    THE ROLE – SENIOR GRAPHICS PROGRAMMER

    This role is ideal for a Senior Graphics Programmer who has a passion for researching and developing beautiful, modern rendering techniques and implementing them across a range of graphics APIs including DX12 and Vulkan. On a typical day you will:

    • Design and program graphics engine components and shaders for PC and next generation consoles.
    • Work with our super-creative and talented art team to research and develop rendering techniques to achieve visual targets.
    • Research and develop cutting edge techniques to make the games we work on look more appealing and impressive. Implement these features in everything from UE4 to bespoke AAA game engines.
    • Create clean, efficient and well tested code.
    • Participate in the full development cycle of console and PC games starting from basic prototypes through to game release.
    • Collaborate with other engineers as well as game designers, artists and QA on a number of studio projects.
    • Additional responsibilities and projects may be assigned as and when required.

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

    Essential

    • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
    • Strong knowledge of HLSL/GLSL shader programming languages.
    • Experience in GPU debugging and graphics bug fixing.
    • Experience writing lighting shaders.
    • Experience of rendering hardware and implementing some modern rendering techniques e.g. screen-space post-processing effects, ambient occlusion, shadows, reflections, modern specular lighting reflectance models.
    • Excellent 3D math skills (linear algebra, vector math).
    • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with modern graphics APIs (e.g. DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan).
    • Excellent written and communication skills.

    Desirable

    • Experience in GPU profiling and optimisation.
    • Experience working in a PBR material workflow and general understanding of texture authoring requirements.
    • Degree in Computer Science and/or Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
