    THE DAILY LIFE OF A SENIOR DESIGNER AT d3t:

    • Review and feedback latest build to ensure that it conforms with the design vision and the core mechanics of the game.
    • Communicate the project objectives, strategies, and general information to all team members in order to give visibility to the advancement of the development of the game.
    • Work alongside the design team, contributing to the game design and features to inspire and guide the other designers.
    • Be part of the senior Design leadership; mentor others, bring your experience to bear, and help steer the department’s direction.
    • Communicate with clients to ensure all parties have full awareness of current and projected objectives, difficulties and deadlines.
    • Take part in discussions with prospective clients regarding potential projects.
    • Liaise with the Production team to assess progress towards short- and long-term objectives.
    • Liaise with other discipline leads and seniors to maintain awareness of progress and impediments.
    • Actively participate in the decision-making process with management and oversee the necessary adjustments to ensure that the game meets expectations.
    • Promoting and building a strong cooperative culture between disciplines.
    • Participate in the selection, on-boarding and mentoring of team members.
    • Create a work environment that is motivating for team members and which fosters development and creation.

    THE ROLE – ENGINEERING MANAGER

    We are looking for an Engineering Manager to direct, plan, and coordinates activities, as well as spending time supervising employees within the Engineering Department. The Engineering Manager will report directly to the Head of Engineering.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Developing the Engineering Department and its employees
    • Solving personnel problems through HR and Line Management
    • Undertaking employee recruitment – including reviewing CV’s, evaluating and uploading programming tests and conducting interviews

    • Help junior coders working on other aspects of the title such as input, save games etc, and would be responsible for ensuring they had clear direction in the way they can tackle projects.

    • At least 4 years’ experience working in a programming position.

    THE ROLE – SENIOR GRAPHICS PROGRAMMER

    This role is ideal for a Senior Graphics Programmer who has a passion for researching and developing beautiful, modern rendering techniques and implementing them across a range of graphics APIs including DX12 and Vulkan. On a typical day you will:

    • Design and program graphics engine components and shaders for PC and next generation consoles.
    • Work with our super-creative and talented art team to research and develop rendering techniques to achieve visual targets.
    • Research and develop cutting edge techniques to make the games we work on look more appealing and impressive. Implement these features in everything from UE4 to bespoke AAA game engines.
    • Create clean, efficient and well tested code.
    • Participate in the full development cycle of console and PC games starting from basic prototypes through to game release.
    • Collaborate with other engineers as well as game designers, artists and QA on a number of studio projects.
    • Additional responsibilities and projects may be assigned as and when required.

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

    Essential

    • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
    • Strong knowledge of HLSL/GLSL shader programming languages.
    • Experience in GPU debugging and graphics bug fixing.
    • Experience writing lighting shaders.
    • Experience of rendering hardware and implementing some modern rendering techniques e.g. screen-space post-processing effects, ambient occlusion, shadows, reflections, modern specular lighting reflectance models.
    • Excellent 3D math skills (linear algebra, vector math).
    • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with modern graphics APIs (e.g. DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan).
    • Excellent written and communication skills.

    Desirable

    • Experience in GPU profiling and optimisation.
    • Experience working in a PBR material workflow and general understanding of texture authoring requirements.
