    THE ROLE – TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER (FIXED-TERM)

    We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to oversee our company’s hiring on fixed term contract, initially for 6 months to provide cover an existing employee who is taking a leave of absence. We are a growing studio so there is a good chance this will become a permanent position.

    The Talent Acquisition Manager will work closely with our recruiters and Heads of Department to manage sourcing, interviewing and employment processes. To be successful in this role, Candidates should have a HR background and experience screening and evaluating candidates. Candidates should also have some knowledge of UK Employment Law and Employee Rights.

    The ideal candidate is a team player who is able to make effective decisions quickly.

    Ultimately, the Talent Acquisition Manager will manage our recruitment to ensure we hire qualified employees to meet our company’s current and future needs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Update current and maintain recruiting procedures (e.g. job application and on-boarding processes)
    • Keep track of recruiting schedules
    • Implement new sourcing methods (e.g. social recruiting)

    The Technical Artist will be a key part of our growing Art Team. We are looking for a creative problem solver to support both the art and animation team requirements, assisting with resolving technical issues, streamlining workflows, improving performance and creating toolsets.

    We work with very high-profile clients on amazing game titles and the Technical Artist will get to work on a wide variety of projects, raising the bar of the art productivity and efficiency, and therefore helping us satisfy and retain their loyalty.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for helping to establish and maintain project art pipelines from inception and throughout the project life-cycle.
    • Assist with creating and integrating in-house toolsets and be involved in creating materials/shaders.
    • Help to ensure all artwork hits memory and frame rate guidelines/restrictions by means of performance profiling.
    • Collaborate with the artists and feedback on how they can improve the performance of the in-game assets while maintaining visual fidelity.
    • Help to ensure all artwork adheres to guidelines regarding naming conventions, texture layering structures etc.
    • Keep up to date with industry advancements and technologies and share knowledge with the art team.
    • Add to our library of tutorials, documents and technical guides to improve efficiency in the art pipeline and be proactive in finding solutions to technical issues.
    • Advise Tech Art Leads of resourcing concerns and productions risks.
    • Encourage and mentor other members of the Technical Art Team.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS

    • Enjoy the technical challenge and constraints of real-time game art and have some understanding of modern rendering, shading and lighting techniques.
    • Must be performance and quality focused.
    • Must have an excellent working knowledge of Maya and/or 3DS Max and some knowledge in Python.
    • Strong communication and organisation skills and enthusiasm for working within a multidisciplinary art team.
    • Ability to create materials/shaders and an understanding of a PBR workflow.
    • Good understanding of the technical limitations of current console hardware.
    • Practical and methodical approach to technical and creative problem-solving.
    • Demonstrate dependability and commitment to projects and tasks, and a hunger to learn and improve as a Technical Artist.
    • Flexible and calm approach with the ability to adapt to change.
    • Ability to deliver quality work within fixed time constraints.

    • Create high quality 2D user interface graphical artwork, from wireframe prototypes and concepts, through to implementation in game, including bug fixing and polishing.
    • Assist with concepting new ideas, exploring new techniques and refining the UI to enhance the player experience.
    • Following specified art direction and working in collaboration with other departments, create beautiful icons, menus, buttons and front-end HUD graphics, and assist in both providing and implementing feedback.

    The Senior VFX Artist is a key part of our growing Art Team at d3t. Having an excellent eye for detail, we are looking for someone who can create world-class Visual Effects that support and enhance the gameplay experience. We work with very high-profile clients on amazing game titles and the quality of our Visual Effects artwork is critical to satisfying and retaining their loyalty.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accurately follow a pre-defined art direction or concept to produce impressive visual effects in varying art styles.
    • Create complex high-quality effects, from prototype through to implementation in-game, including bug fixing and polishing and assisting with concepting new ideas, exploring new techniques.
    • Work with other Art Leads in helping to oversee the VFX art team quality, ensuring consistency between initial vision and final look.
    • Work with tech artists and programmers to improve workflows, creating clean and efficient systems, with an awareness of what is required for optimal performance.

    THE ROLE – SENIOR GRAPHICS PROGRAMMER

    This role is ideal for a Senior Graphics Programmer who has a passion for researching and developing beautiful, modern rendering techniques and implementing them across a range of graphics APIs including DX12 and Vulkan. On a typical day you will:

    • Design and program graphics engine components and shaders for PC and next generation consoles.
    • Work with our super-creative and talented art team to research and develop rendering techniques to achieve visual targets.
    • Research and develop cutting edge techniques to make the games we work on look more appealing and impressive. Implement these features in everything from UE4 to bespoke AAA game engines.
    • Create clean, efficient and well tested code.
    • Participate in the full development cycle of console and PC games starting from basic prototypes through to game release.
    • Collaborate with other engineers as well as game designers, artists and QA on a number of studio projects.
    • Additional responsibilities and projects may be assigned as and when required.

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

    Essential

    • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
    • Strong knowledge of HLSL/GLSL shader programming languages.
    • Experience in GPU debugging and graphics bug fixing.
    • Experience writing lighting shaders.
    • Experience of rendering hardware and implementing some modern rendering techniques e.g. screen-space post-processing effects, ambient occlusion, shadows, reflections, modern specular lighting reflectance models.
    • Excellent 3D math skills (linear algebra, vector math).
    • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with modern graphics APIs (e.g. DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan).

    • Experience in GPU profiling and optimisation.
    • Experience working in a PBR material workflow and general understanding of texture authoring requirements.
