We began the project by holding a call with the project team at the BBC to talk through the prepared storyboards for the first few interactions, discussing how they were expected to work from both a technical and animation perspective and agreeing the method in which the assets would be delivered to us.
Our previous experience developing for the engine in which the game is built gave us good insight in what would be possible to achieve, as well as allowing us to stretch its capabilities to ensure a polished final product.
We also took the opportunity to expand knowledge within the coding team, working collaboratively to gain experience working within the engine.
We developed eight fun interactions as well as an animated hub for the project, each with a different take on the craft theme in the inimitable Charlie and Lola style.
The simple interactions and fun animations really bring the game to life and our talented team worked hard to ensure that we met the detailed specifications provided by the BBC, as well as keeping to the license holders expectations for the brand.
See Charlie and Lola here!
