d3t welcomes David
9th Dec 2019
Experience / Career Background
I studied automotive engineering at Staffordshire University. I found a role as an Emissions Conformance Engineer for the construction machine company, Caterpillar UK. It was a niche job, firstly knowing emissions regulations for various countries, and secondly ensuring employees followed them. I built up some money and took 10 months off to travel to 26 countries. Once I was back I fully realised engineering wasn’t for me and looked for opportunities in the gaming industry.
Why d3t?
I started mainly looking at QA positions anywhere in the UK, and a Keywords Studios advert popped up. The more I researched, the more I liked it.
What was the recruitment process like?
It was interesting. I was sent a little test and then after a while was invited to interview. I was made very welcome and relaxed and offered the role a couple of weeks later.
Fun fact about yourself / hobby / specialism/ driving force:
My hobbies are video games (obviously) and trampolining if I can find a good club again. I’m also aiming to travel to 100 countries by age 100.
