The annual opportunity to inspire and be inspired, GDC is a huge event in the industry calendar, enabling us to share learning and network with industry insiders from across the globe.
This year’s event was also a stand-out as it marked our first year as part of the Keywords Group. It’s fantastic to be part of wider group of talented KWS studios and to be supported by the KWS Global Sales Team.
Despite a tricky start with snow delaying our flight, all four of us made it – making this our 6th consecutive year in attendance.
Networking always features high on our agenda and this year saw us undertake a total of 25 meetings with existing and potential clients. We have come away with some incredibly exciting opportunities on the horizon and in the words of Chief Brody, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat! ☺ ”. *
GDC wouldn’t be GDC without the celebration and showcasing of industry innovation. Unreal was absolutely everywhere and our stand-out tech highlights include:
- nVidia Real Time Ray Tracing
- VICON Siren
- Epic – Andy Serkis performs as fiction alien character Osiris Black
Putting our d3t philosophy of striving for excellence while having fun, we found time to take a bike ride across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. A breath-taking experience. And we also managed to attend the awesome Keywords party at the aptly named Keystone Bar in San Francisco.
GDC 2018 more than lived up to expectation and we are already looking forward to 2019’s event.
