CAR INSURANCE APP

TASK

We were asked to create a Car Insurance App for iOS and Android phones that would collect GPS data for the user’s car journeys, and send it to the client. The app would also allow the user to look at and analyse their data, along with a rating (generated by the client) that graded the user’s driving.

THE SOLUTION

In addition to collecting the GPS data, the app had to ensure it accurately captured relevant journeys. The solution was a Bluetooth connection between the car and the phone.

To enable the app to work for a variety of clients, it was created upon a structure that allowed for quicker branding and client-specific layouts. Further corporate possibilities were incorporated for fleet customers, whose users may need to access multiple vehicles. As part of this addition, the app contains functionality for the user to email expense claims to their manager.

OUTCOME

The app allows users to:

–        Capture information about your vehicle to help ensure your insurance cover meets your needs

–        Connect your smartphone to your car via Bluetooth to make sure all of the relevant journeys are accurately captured

–        Check your Driving Style scores on the move; keeping track of an overall score, your last 20 journeys and how many miles you have travelled during the policy year

–        Earn weekly treats for maintaining a positive Driver Score, delivered directly via the app, that can be redeemed at one of the participating retail partners.
